NESCAC Recognizes 93 Bobcats on 2022 Fall All-Academic Team

WXC's Jillian Richardson One of Only Two Overall Honorees to Earn Spot on All-Academic, All-Sportsmanship, and All-NESCAC Squads

HADLEY, Mass. -- Ninety-three (93) student-athletes from Bates College's varsity fall teams have received 2022 NESCAC Fall All-Academic honors, announced Wednesday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.

Over 1,100 student-athletes have been named to the 2022 NESCAC Fall All-Academic Team. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing, and be in good standing in their sport with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 or equivalent on a 4.0 scale at the end of the 2021-22 academic year. Transfers must have completed one year of study at an institution.

Bates' women's cross country senior, Jillian Richardson (Auburn, Maine) was one of only two on this prestigious list to earn a spot on the NESCAC All-Academic Team, the All-Sportsmanship Team, and an All-NESCAC squad this fall.

Seven of Bates' honorees also won All-NESCAC honors in their sport this season, including: Tife Agunloye (So.-Monroe, Conn.) and Alec Szwarcewicz (Sr.-Newton, Mass.) of men's soccer; Eli Boesch Dining (Sr.-Concord, N.H.) of men's cross country; Paige Cote (Sr.-Auburn, Maine) of field hockey; Tony Hooks (Sr.-New Rochelle, N.Y.) of football; and Frieda Kickliter (Sr.-Mobile, Ala.) and Richardson of women's cross country.

Seniors winning NESCAC Fall All-Academic honors for the maximum third time include: Grace Biddle (State College, Pa.) and Cote of field hockey; Boesch Dining, Gabe Coffey (Bangor, Maine), Owen Glover (Andover, Mass.), Daniel McConnell (Tewksbury, N.J.), Mack Reynolds (West Hartford, Conn.), and Clem Taylor-Roth (Juneau, Alaska) of men's cross country; Joanna Cloutier (Portland, Ore.), Chase Crawford (Indianapolis, Ind.), Courtney Gray (Belmont, Mass.), Sophie Martens (Scarborough, Maine), and Cece Pilgrim (North Kingstown, R.I.) of women's soccer; Chris Euston (Marietta, Ga.), Austin Gilbride (Woodbridge, Conn.), Jacob Iwowo (London, England), Alex Kovacs (Hopkinton, Mass.), and Szwarcewicz of men's soccer; Hooks,  Quinn Kieselowsky (Blairstown, N.J.), and Owen Straley (Norwell, Mass.) of football; and Elizabeth LaCroix (Richmond, R.I.), Richardson, Jordan Wilson (Medfield, Mass.), and Ilana Zeilinger (Washington, D.C.) of women's cross country.

Founded in 1971, the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) consists of 11 liberal arts colleges and has consistently reflected its commitment to the values of athletics and academic achievement. The member colleges of the conference are Amherst College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Connecticut College, Hamilton College, Middlebury College, Trinity College, Tufts University, Wesleyan University, and Williams College.
