Emma Eide (Ramsey, N.J.) and
Ami Evans (Honolulu, Hawaii) each dished double-double performances for Bates College Friday evening as the Bobcats dropped a four-set decision on the road in non-conference volleyball action at St. Lawrence University (6-16).
In a quartet of action-packed frames, it would be the host-Saints left standing, besting the Bobcats by scores of 25-21, 27-25, 21-25, 25-22.Â
For Eide, the effort marks her fourth double-double of the season as the junior distributed 32 assists to go along with her 12 digs. Evans achieves her first collegiate double-double performance with a second-straight outing of 10 kills, complemented by the first-year's 15 digs.Â
Alyssa Lowther (So.-Wyckoff, N.J.) floored a team-best 12 kills on the night while
Katie Kortekaas (So.-Manhattan Beach, Calif.) followed with 10 of her own and a .320 hitting %.
Ellie Asada (Honolulu, Hawaii) provided a match-high 23 digs, her second-consecutive contest with 20+ settles, while the first year added eight assists and a trio of service aces to her stat line.
The Bobcats (5-13) now prepare for two contests on Saturday with a noontime start at Clarkson University (Potsdam, N.Y.), followed by a neutral-site affair vs. Skidmore College at 2:00 p.m.
