Lewiston, Maine - Bates College women's soccer closed out the home portion of its fall slate in style as the Bobcats secured a 2-1 victory over visiting St. Joseph's (ME) Monday night under the lights of historic Garcelon Field.
Elizabeth Patrick (Cooperstown, N.Y.), after accounting for both of Bates' tallies in Saturday's 2-1 home upset of #20 Tufts, was at it again on this evening as the senior sent in her team-leading fourth goal of the year 18:14 into the contest.
Abby Alter (Washington, D.C.) doubled the Bobcats' advantage to 2-0 in the 63rd minute (62:14) as the sophomore knocked in the deflection of an initial save of a
Maeve Parmelee (Jr.-Pelham, N.Y.) attempt for her first collegiate goal.
Alicen Burnham (Monmouth, Maine) recorded the lone score for the Monks (6-8-1) at the 77:51 mark, the sophomore's third of the year, after sending in a Nikki Sheehan (Sr.-Medway, Mass.) shot that clanked off both posts before finding Burnham's boot.
The Bobcats dominated the overall shot column at 22-10, but owned only a slight 9-6 edge when it came to attempts on frame.
Ruby Reimann (So.-Oak Bluffs, Mass.), making her third start (fifth appearance) in goal for the Bobcats, collected her team-leading third win of the season (3-1) with two saves in 45:00 of action.
Bates (5-6-2) will take to the road for its final two outings of the regular season, beginning with a trek to Connecticut College (New London, Conn.) Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
