Box Score LEWISTON, Maine—The Bates women's tennis team hosted Tufts for its first home match since Feb. 28, 2020. The Jumbos earned a 9-0 win this afternoon at the Bobcats' Wallach Tennis Center.
Tufts clinched its fifth straight victory of the season to improve to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the NESCAC. Bates is now 1-1 overall and in NESCAC play.
The Jumbos built a 3-0 lead in doubles action and went on to sweep singles play.
Victoria Scott tightly battled her Jumbo opponents in the second set at No. 3 singles. She was narrowly edged 7-6 (7-2).
The Bobcats are back in action tomorrow, Sunday, April 25, when they travel to play at Connecticut College. The NESCAC match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
