Dalia named NESCAC and Maine Women's Basketball Player of the Week

HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates senior Ariana Dalia was named the NESCAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, following two terrific performances for the Bobcats, who are off to their best start to a season in 10 years. That was followed on Tuesday by her receiving Player of the Week honors from the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

Dalia (Brick, N.J.) averaged 10 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 3.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 69.2 percent (9-of-13) from the field in a 2-0 week Bates.

In a 72-62 win over Southern Maine, Dalia scored eight points to go with nine rebounds, four blocks, and two assists. In a 67-42 victory over Maine Maritime, Dalia tied for the team-high with 12 points and added 11 rebounds, two assists, three blocks, and three steals.

This is Dalia's first NESCAC and Maine Player of the Week honor and the first for Bates since teammate Meghan Graff (South Portland, Maine) won both honors back-to-back weeks in February of 2020.

Dalia and the Bobcats (4-1) visit Bowdoin for a non-conference game this Wednesday at 7pm.
