Bates (1-1) took four of five matches against the Diplomats (0-3) at the top of the ladder. Junior Luca Polgar (Budapest, Hungary) defeated Ellen Verry 3-0 (11-3, 12-10, 11-5) at the No. 1 position and senior captain Kristyna Alexova (Boskovice, Czech Republic) swept her way to a 3-0 (11-9, 11-4, 11-4) victory over Emily Knapp at the No. 2 position. 

Senior captain Vicky Arjoon (Georgetown, Guyana) earned a sweep as well, winning 3-0 (11-7, 12-10, 11-8) at the No. 4 position over Katherine Galambos. And first-year Natasha Jones (Roslindale, Mass.) continued her impressive start to her collegiate career with a 3-1 (11-7, 12-10, 8-11, 11-8) win over Grace Smith at the No. 5 position. 

The Bobcats swept all three matches at the No. 7-9 positions, with first-years Emma Galambos (Baltimore, Md.) and Natalie Bachman (New Canaan, Conn.) winning their respective matches. Galambos defeated Liana Zranchev 3-0 (11-9, 11-7, 11-6) at No. 7 and Bachman won 3-0 (11-4, 11-6, 11-7) at No. 8 over Katherine Anderson. 

Senior Katie Bull (Sudbury, Mass.) improved to 2-0 on the season with a 3-0 (11-3, 11-5, 11-2) win at the No. 9 position over Mimi Fairbanks.

The Bobcats host Bowdoin for their home opener on Wednesday, Nov. 28, with the match getting underway at 6pm.
