HANOVER, N.H. -- The No. 15 nationally ranked Bates women's squash team went 0-3 against stiff competition over the weekend, culminating with Sunday's 7-2 loss at No. 7 nationally ranked Dartmouth. On Saturday at the Middlebury Round Robin, the Bobcats fell 8-1 to the host and 16th-ranked Panthers after accepting a tough 5-4 decision against No. 13 Franklin & Marshall.

Despite the team losses, senior Nessrine Ariffin (Penang, Malaysia) was 3-0 over the weekend individually at the No. 1 position, improving the one-time All-American to 11-3 this season. 

In the loss to F&M, Ariffin and fellow senior Myriam Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.) earned points at the top of the ladder, with Ariffin gutting out a 3-2 decision against Sherilyn Yang at No. 1 and Kelly defeating Fiona Murphy in straight games. Junior Lauren Williams (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) won 3-1 at No. 6 and sophomore Charlotte Cabot (Dover, Mass.) was a 3-0 winner at No. 7. In the No. 3 matchup, senior captain Lesea Bourke (Greenwich, Conn.) fell in five games to the Diplomats' Lauren Johnston.

Ariffin earned Bates' lone point against Middlebury, and she and Kelly were the Bobcat winners at Dartmouth.

Bates (6-8) hosts Bowdoin on Friday at 5pm and Wellesley on Saturday at 5pm.
