LEWISTON, Maine -- A lineup chock full of seniors combined to lead the No. 15 nationally ranked Bates women's squash team to a 6-3 victory over No. 28 Tufts on Senior Night Tuesday at the Bates Squash Center.
In addition to Senior Night, prior to the match the Bates Squash Center's new glass-walled sixth court was dedicated. The facility's spectator area has also been reconfigured and improved this year.
Bates fielded seniors at the first eight positions in its lineup (and the ninth position was won by default). At the top,
Nessrine Ariffin (Penang, Malaysia) improved to 9-3 this season with a 12-10, 11-2, 11-3 victory over Tufts' Paget Stanco.Â

Myriam Kelly (Bronx, N.Y.),
Lesea Bourke (Greenwich, Conn.) and
Chloe Mitchell (Chatham, N.J.) also captured straight-game victories, at positions 2, 3 and 4, respectively. Bates also received a 3-0 victory from seniorÂ
Carolyn Attenborough (Manchester, Mass.) at 8.
Tufts got three points back at 5 through 7, as Bates seniors
Emma Korein (Rydal, Pa.),
Sarah Miller (East Aurora, N.Y.) and
Sugeiry Betances (New York, N.Y.) all competed in the win.Â
The Bobcats have two remaining home matches, against Bowdoin on Jan. 30 (5pm) and against Wellesley on Jan. 31 (5pm). They next travel to the Middlebury Round Robin on Jan. 24 to face Franklin & Marshall at 9am and Middlebury at 3pm.
