HARTFORD, Conn. -- Two first-half goals by senior forward Kim Alexander gave the Bates College women's soccer team the scoring needed to win 2-1 at Trinity College in a NESCAC contest on Sunday afternoon.
Alexander (Cumberland, Maine) scored with an assist from junior Molly Wagner (Longmeadow, Mass.) in the 17th minute, and struck again in the 24th minute with an assist from senior linemate Mary Bucci (Norfolk, Mass.).
Trinity junior Katherine O'Brien (Lynnfield, Mass.) scored on a free kick from just outside the penalty area in the 72nd minute of the game, but the Bobcats (3-1, 1-1 NESCAC) held on for the win, outshooting the Bantams (0-4, 0-3) by an 11-6 margin.
Bates sophomore Mia Lidofsky (Providence, R.I.) made four saves in goal, while Trinity counterpart Tara Finucane (Branford, Conn.) recorded 10 saves.
Bates plays another NESCAC game at Bowdoin on Wednesday, Sept. 20 at 4:30 p.m.
