Women's soccer soars past Connecticut College, 6-1

New London, Conn. – Junior forward Kim Alexander (Cumberland, Maine) netted a pair of second half goals, leading Bates College (3-1, 2-1) to a 6-1 victory over Connecticut College (1-3-1, 0-3) on Harkness Green Saturday afternoon.



Molly Wagner (Longmeadow, Mass.) contributed with a goal and one assist for the Bobcats. Sophomore midfielder Rachael Schefrin (Boulder, Colo.) accounted for the Connecticut College goal, netting her third of the season with 8:17 left in the game.



Bates took a 1-0 lead on a penalty-kick and score by Wagner in the 20th minute of the first half. Leading 2-0 in the second, the Bobcats netted three goals over a 5:46 to time span to build a 5-0 lead.



The Camels out-shot the Bobcats 16-to-8 but the visitors were able to hang on for the 6-1 victory.



Nini Spalding (San Francisco, Calif.) made six saves for the Bobcats. Kate Simmons (Altamont, N.Y.) had one save for the Camels.



The Bobcats will host Trinity College tomorrow at 11 a.m.
