Bates women's track and field senior Isabelle Demeritt turned in the performance of her career to date on Saturday, running the second-fastest 10,000 meters in program history to highlight the Farley Inter Regional Extravaganza for the Bobcats. Competing in her first 10K for Bates since 2022, Demeritt raced to the finish in 36:11.85. Her time was good for fifth place at the meet and second on the Bates all-time performance list behind only the great Katherine Cook '18. Cook finished national-runner up in the event in 2018 with her school-record time of 35:17.48. It's the third straight week that Demeritt has set a personal record, following her 5K time of 17:21.04 at the NESCAC Championships and her winning time of 4:43.16 in the 1,500 meters at the Pine Tree Classic. She now ranks 33rd in the country this year in the 10K.
