Bates sophomore Allison Hill had a strong start to the indoor track season on Saturday in the Bates/Colby/MIT tri-meet at MIT, nearly matching her personal best in the 60-meter hurdles while winning that event and finishing second in the 200-meter dash.
Hill (Brunswick, Maine) won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.31 seconds, a time that ranks her 10th in Division III this season and is just 0.07 off of her program-record time of 9.24. Hill placed second in the 200-meter dash in 27.49 seconds.
For her performance, Hill was named ECAC Division III New England Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week. Meanwhile her first-year teammate, Srishti Sunil (Bangalore, India), was named the ECAC Division III New England Women's Track & Field Women's Rookie of the Week. Sunil placed second in the triple jump with a top effort of 34 feet, 6.75 inches, which ranks 29th in Division III. She also placed fourth in the high jump (4-11.75).
