The Bates women's cross country team turned in its best race of the season on Saturday, taking fifth place among 11 teams at the NESCAC Championships.

Junior Jessica Wilson (Cumberland, Maine) led the way as she finished the race in 22:41.3, good for 17th place in a field of 123 runners.

Bates, the ninth-ranked team in New England this week, competes at the ECAC Championships next Saturday in Williamstown, Massachusetts.
