Senior Stephen Rowe (Gambier, Ohio) earned All-New England honors by placing 30th out of 370 runners overall Saturday in his first NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship race. 

Rowe covered the 8-kilometer course at Gorham Country Club in 26:09.04, followed closely by teammate and senior captain Zach Magin (26:11.0). Magin repeated as an All-New England selection.

The No. 21 nationally ranked Bates men's cross country team placed fifth out of 54 schools Saturday, the Bobcats' best result at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships since 2013.

Bates scored 211 points, trailing only MIT (81), Amherst (91), Middlebury (124) and Williams (137), and four points ahead of sixth-place Brandeis (215).
