Bates women's volleyball head coach, Emily Hayes, has announced the addition of Grace Kenningham to her staff as an assistant coach.
"I am so thrilled to welcome Grace to the Bates volleyball program," Hayes said. "She brings a contagious passion for the game of volleyball, mentoring young women, and thinking innovatively about ways to continue to elevate our program. We are so excited to get to work and see what this year has in store."
Kenningham joins the garnet and white after serving as an assistant coach for two seasons at her alma mater, Roger Williams University (R.I.)., where she played a vital role in leading the Hawks to a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) tournament appearance in 2023. Kenningham most recently served as interim head coach of the program, commencing in February.
"I am honored to be joining the volleyball program here at Bates," Kenningham said. "I immediately clicked with Coach Hayes and feel as though our coaching styles will compliment each other well. I am looking forward to working with the team this year and contributing to the success of an already amazing group of women."
Kenningham graduated from Roger Williams in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. She played four years of volleyball for the Hawks, serving as a team captain her senior year. Kenningham helped the Hawks reach the CCC championship game in each of her final three seasons, as Roger Williams compiled a conference record of 29-5 during her four years as a student-athlete.
