What does leadership mean to you? Leadership means organization, direction, encouragement, and the ability to bring people together with shared motivation towards a goal.

What experience—big or small—has made a surprising impact on you?
Coaching younger lacrosse players has made a surprisingly big impact on me. Every summer I do multiple lacrosse clinics in my hometown as community service. It really surprised me how great it made me feel to help coach the sport I love and see my love for it spread to younger girls. I didn’t expect them to look up to me as much as they did, which made me very happy.

What’s a failure or setback that taught you something valuable?
Losing my high school state championship two years in a row taught me the importance of staying calm and focused even when behind, and how to emotionally cope with loss.

What’s a value or principle you try to live by?
I try to avoid negativity at all costs: turn negative emotions into a learning moment, stay away from negative people or environments, and spread positivity where I go.

What’s something about you that might surprise people? I have British citizenship and have done lacrosse camp overseas in England.
