Abby Burbank served as the women's lacrosse team's assistant coach in 2025.
She brought a wealth of coaching experience and leadership development to the Bates College women's lacrosse program. With a career spanning collegiate, national, and international lacrosse, she has dedicated herself to mentoring student-athletes and fostering a competitive, character-driven team culture.
Burbank has served as a head coach at multiple institutions, including Plymouth State University, Skidmore College and the University of Denver, and has also led national teams, coaching Wales and Denmark's national women's lacrosse programs. She has been a Master Trainer for USA Lacrosse’s Coach Development Program, contributing to curriculum design that emphasizes leadership and athlete development.
In addition to her coaching background, Burbank has extensive experience in athletic administration and education, previously serving as the Director of Athletics at the Ethel Walker School (Simsbury, Conn.).
A graduate of Williams College where she was a multi-sport athlete, Burbank went on to earn a Master of Science in exercise and sport studies from Smith College. Her diverse background in outdoor education, leadership training, and team development made her a valuable asset to the Bobcats.
