Bates College

Ben Walker joined the Bates College Sports Medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer in the fall of 2012.

A native of Westfield, N.J., Walker first became interested in the sports medicine field after completing an apprenticeship in high school. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in athletic training from the University of New England in 2012. In his time at UNE, Walker completed a sports medicine internship at Bates working primarily with the Bobcat men’s lacrosse and football teams. In his time as an assistant athletic trainer at Bates, he has served a variety of athletic teams as well as been instrumental in the development of emergency action planning on campus.

Walker is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainers Association. He currently resides in Pownal with his wife Katie.
