LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates athletics is excited to announce that the Heisman Trophy will be on campus this Saturday as part of the Bobcat Fan Zone.
The Bobcat Fan Zone, presented by Rogue Life Maine, will be open from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Bardwell Field prior to the 7 p.m. kick-off of the Bates vs. Tufts football game and is free and open to the public!
Fan Zone activities include inflatables, a balloon artist, face painters, a food truck, a photo booth, music, and a chance to hang out with Bates student-athletes. At the center of the festivities is the opportunity to take a photo with the Heisman Trophy, which has been awarded annually since its creation in 1935 to the most outstanding player in college football. Bates alumnus Jeff Price '87, who played four years of football under legendary Bobcat coach
Web Harrison '63, is the CEO of the Heisman Trophy Trust.
It's all part of an exciting Back to Bates Weekend, which features the second annual Bates Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Friday, Oct. 2, field hockey vs. Trinity Saturday at 11 a.m., women's soccer vs. Trinity Saturday at 11 a.m., and men's soccer vs. Trinity Saturday at 2 p.m. As usual, admission is free to all Bates sporting events.
