MEDFORD, Mass. -- The Bates men's Distance Medley Team is headed to the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships after a strong performance at Tufts on Saturday.
Sophomore
Nate Roberts (Summit, N.J.), senior captain
Evan Migdole (Westbrook, Conn.), junior
Callahan Porter (Chester, N.J.), and senior captain
Ross Tejeda (Milton, Mass.) raced to the finish in 9:53.43, the third-fastest time in Bates history. It converts to a banked track time of 9:45.48 and puts the Bobcats 12th in all of NCAA Division III in the event, with 12 teams getting selected for the upcoming NCAA championships.
Elsewhere at Tufts:
- First-year Alex Rodgers (Lowell, Mass.) ran a personal-record time of 1:56.81 in the 800 meters.
- Junior Miles Logan (Brunswick, Maine) took third in the mile in a personal-record time of 4:13.67.
- Sophomore Ryan Glaser (Rockport, Maine) finished third in the 35-pound weight throw with a heave of 56-5.75 (17.21m).
The selections for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships were released Sunday on
NCAA.com and they detail the participants competing March 13 and 14 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala.
Bates is set to compete in the DMR on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
