SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The Bates men's outdoor track and field team visited Bryant University on Friday for the Jaylin Rainford Invitational, with the Bobcats scoring 23 points to finish in 11th place.
Meet Highlights
- Junior Evan Berthiaume (East Greenwich, R.I.), first-year Liam Walsh (West Hartford, Conn.), senior captain Reuven Frye (Montclair, N.J.), and junior Eli Terrell (Barrington, R.I.) teamed up to win the 4x400 relay in 3:32.90.
- Berthiaume took third in the 100-meter dash in a personal-record time of 11.02 seconds.
- First-year Briggs Catino (Rye, N.H.) placed fourth in the 200-meter dash, winning his section in 22.36 seconds, and eighth in the 100-meter dash in 11.14 seconds.
- First-year Colin Manning (Lake Oswego, Ore.) won his section in the 1,500 meters in 4:09.62 and fellow first-year Sam Cashman (Brunswick, Maine) also won his section in the event, crossing the finish line in 4:11.02.
- Senior Alec Pawlowicz (Narragansett, R.I.) took eighth in the javelin with a toss of 158-4 (48.26m).
The Bobcats are back in action on Saturday, April 4 when they head to Amherst, Mass. for the Amherst Spring Fling.
