BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Bates men's Distance Medley Relay team placed 11th Friday at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, held at Birmingham Crossplex.
Sophomore
Nate Roberts (Summit, N.J.) ran the opening 1200-meter leg, senior captain
Evan Migdole (Westbrook, Conn.) handled the 400-meter portion, junior
Callahan Porter (Chester, N.J.) ran the 800-meter leg, and junior
Miles Logan (Brunswick, Maine) anchored the race by running the final 1,600 meters.
The Bobcats crossed the finish line in 10:01.99, good for 11th out of 12 teams at the meet. Bates finished ahead of Haverford (10:03.55) and narrowly behind 10th-place Tufts (10:01.61). SUNY Geneseo won the race in 9:42.65.
Logan filled in for an under-the-weather senior captain
Ross Tejeda (Milton, Mass.), who is the school-record holder in the mile.
The NCAA Championships conclude the indoor season for the Bobcats. Bates opens their outdoor campaign March 19-21 at the Emory Spring Break Classic in Atlanta.
