NEW ORLEANS -- The Bates men's indoor track and field team received a host of All-East Region honors on Wednesday, as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The top-8 individuals in each event from each region on the year-end Descending Order Lists earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-8 relay teams.
Sophomore
Nate Roberts (Summit, N.J.), senior captain
Evan Migdole (Westbrook, Conn.), junior
Callahan Porter (Chester, N.J.), and senior captain
Ross Tejeda (Milton, Mass.) make up the Bates Distance Medley Relay team which is headed to the NCAA Championships this Friday as one of the top-12 relays in the country. They picked up All-Region honors as a group based on their season-best time of 9:53.43, which ranks third on the Bates all-time performance list in the event.
Roberts and Tejeda earned All-Region honors individually as well, with Roberts recognized for his performance in the 800 meters and Tejeda in the mile. Roberts' 800 time of 1:52.08 ranks second all-time at Bates and Tejeda's mile time of 4:06.73 is a school record.
Sophomore
Ryan Glaser (Rockport, Maine) is an All-Region performer in both the 35-pound weight throw thanks to his personal-record throw of 58-5.25 (17.81m) and the shot put based on his personal-record throw of 48-5.25 (14.76m). Junior
Matt Charpentier (York, Maine) joins Glaser as an All-Region shot putter thanks to his indoor personal-best heave of 52-9.25 (16.08m), ninth all-time at Bates. Meanwhile, sophomore
Henry Hood (Hinsdale, N.H.) is an All-Region performer alongside Glaser in the weight throw thanks to his personal-record toss of 53-11.25 (16.44m).
Junior
Evan Berthiaume (East Greenwich, R.I.) is All-Region in the 200 meters based on his personal-best time of 22.13 seconds, which ranks second on the Bates all-time performance list in the event.
Sophomore
Max Hoffman (Wellesley, Mass.) earns All-Region honors in the 3,000 meters based on his personal-record time of 8:21.97, which ranks third all-time at Bates.
Senior captain
Carson Moellering (Natick, Mass.) rounds out the All-Region performers for the Bobcats, as he earns recognition in the heptathlon with his career-best point total of 4,350, good for fifth on the Bates all-time performance list.
