LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates women's basketball junior guard
Sarah Hughes has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week following two terrific performances to start NESCAC play for the Bobcats.
Hughes (Rumson, N.J.) shot 9-17 from the floor and 3-5 from three-point range last week, scoring 12 points each game and averaging 4.5 rebounds per contest. She dished out a game-high four assists against then-No. 19 nationally ranked Amherst. Hughes only turned the ball over twice in a combined 60 minutes played against the Mammoths and Hamilton Continentals, both wins for the Bobcats.
Hughes is one of five Bates women's basketball players in program history to be named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, currently in its 29th season. She is the first Bobcat to secure a spot more than once, having also been named to the Team of the Week as a first-year in 2024. Hughes is averaging 9.2 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per contest while shooting .495 from the floor this season for Bates.
The No. 14 nationally ranked Bobcats (13-1, 2-0 NESCAC) visit No. 8 Bowdoin (11-1, 2-0 NESCAC) this Friday for a 7 p.m. tip.
