BANGOR, Maine – Fresh off their highest national ranking on record in program history (#13), the Bates men's soccer team kept their momentum rolling with a 3-0 win over Husson on Tuesday night. The Bobcats improve to 6-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in NESCAC play, marking their best start since 2005.

Luke Cunniffe (Windham, Maine) opened the scoring in the 34th minute (33:16), finishing a pass from classmate
Chris Bianco (East Greenwich, R.I.). Just two minutes later (35:19), junior
Antonio Mesa (Bogotá, Colombia) extended the lead with help from Cunniffe and sophomore

Mesa struck again in the 83rd minute (82:13), netting his second goal of the match off an assist from junior
Craddock Bridge (Celina, Ohio) to seal the victory. Sophomore goalkeeper
George Nassar (Newtonville, Mass.) earned another clean sheet, making one save as Bates outshot Husson,13-4, including an 8-1 advantage on target.
The Bobcats return home to Russell Street Field for a big Back to Bates weekend of NESCAC action. They'll face No. 4 nationally ranked Williams on Saturday at 2 p.m. before hosting Hamilton on Sunday at 3 p.m.
