LEWISTON, Maine -- Juniors
Gibby Sullivan and
John Tully, along with sophomore
Keagan Ryan, have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Baseball Academic All-District® Team, announced today.
Sullivan, a politics major, earns his second-straight All-District® selection with a 3.56 grade-point average. A local from Yarmouth, Maine, the infielder also earned his second NESCAC All-Academic nod this spring.
A starter in all 32 contests in which he appeared, Sullivan went 26-for-109 (.239) at the dish with five doubles, 13 RBI, and a team-best 21 walks. Sullivan smashed his first collegiate home run Feb. 22 in a 4-3 win at Ferrum and went on to slug four long balls on the year.
Tully, who accumulated a 3.55 GPA as a politics major, makes his debut on this elite list. Hailing from Framingham, Mass. and also a NESCAC All-Academic honoree, Tully made nine starts on the hill for the Bobcats as the right-hander paced the squad with four victories (4-3) in a team-high 48.1 innings pitched.
The junior tossed his first career complete game in a 5-2 victory at Colby, Apr. 11. Tully's effort marked the first nine-inning complete game by a Bates pitcher in NESCAC play since 2019.
Ryan, who majors in economics, achieved a 3.56 grade-point to earn All-District® status in his first year of eligibility. A NESCAC All-Academic selection as well, the outfielder paced the Bobcats with a .305 batting average (32-for-105) with three doubles, two homers, and 24 runs scored in 32 games played (32 starts).
Owning a solid .452 on-base percentage, the resident of Salem, N.H. reached base via hit-by-pitch 17 times (1st-NESCAC) while earning 12 free passes. Ryan took advantage of these opportunities, stealing a team-leading 16 bases (19 attempts) this spring.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
