Women's Lacrosse Clinches Postseason Berth Despite Setback at No. 3 Colby

Bobcats Headed to NESCAC Tournament for First Time Since 2019

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Despite closing out the 2025 regular season Wednesday with an 18-3 setback at No. 3 Colby, Bates College women's lacrosse is headed to the NESCAC postseason for the first time since 2019 as the Bobcats locked up the No. 7 seed with a 3-7 conference record.

In Wednesday's action, Colby jumped to a 3–0 lead just over five minutes into the game. Bates answered at 8:08 when first-year attacker Lucy Taylor buried a pass from Laci Raveis to put the Bobcats on the board. However, the Mules responded with three more unanswered goals, including two from Colby's Julia Jardina, who tallied four goals in the opening frame. Bates trailed 6–1 heading into the second.

The second quarter proved just as tough for the Bobcats, as Colby extended its lead to 12–1 by halftime. Starting goalkeeper, Molly Urbonas, recorded four first-half saves for Bates against a barrage of 21 shots by Colby (13-2, 8-2 NESCAC).

Junior Raegan White entered the cage for the Bobcats after the break and made an immediate impact with a pair of early saves. Bates showed more composure defensively, limiting Colby to three goals in the frame. Still, the offense remained quiet, and the Mules took a commanding 15–1 lead into the fourth.

Bates showed fight in the final fifteen minutes. At 13:19, Laci Raveis broke the scoring drought with a strong unassisted goal. Colby would add three more goals before Raveis struck again—this time with just seconds remaining—capitalizing on a late possession to complete her brace and push her season total to 32 goals.

Caroline Keating recorded four caused turnovers, to go along with a quartet of grounders, in a strong performance by the Bobcats' junior middie.

The garnet and white will now travel to Medford, Mass. to take on No. 2 seed Tufts in the quarterfinals this Saturday at noon. The Jumbos (ranked No. 2 nationally) defeated the Bobcats earlier this month (Apr. 9) by a score of 18-6 on Garcelon Field. Bates' seven victories (7-8) are the team's most since going 8-8 during the aforementioned 2019 campaign.

Colby will play as the No. 3 seed and host No. 6 Trinity Saturday at noon.
