Box Score ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Bates College women's tennis closed out its week-long Florida trek Friday with a contest at Division II Eckerd College. The Bobcats, playing their third match in two days, dropped a 7-0 decision to the host-Tritons.
In doubles action, the Bobcat duo of
Elise Hepburn and
Isabella Saul proved victorious in the No. 3 slot, defeating Eckerd's Maialen Idiakez (So.-San Sebastián, Spain) and Laura Ullrich (Fy.-Schongau, Switzerland), 6-1.
The Tritons (2-1) secured the team point, however, with victories in the remaining doubles matches. Kylie Misdorp (Sr.-Durban, South Africa) and Fiona Orza (Fy.-Baia Mare, Romania) edged Bates'
Olivia Gidlow and
Iris Westmoreland, 7-5, in the No. 1 position. Catherine Cole (So.-Fort Smith, Ark.) and Olivia Lindestaf (So.-Höganäs, Sweden) doubled up
Lizzie Frekko and
Ava Lyon at No. 2 by a score of 6-3.
