LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates senior captain
Elsa Daulerio is the MWBCA Co-Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
Daulerio (Harpswell, Maine) scored a season-high 20 points on 8-16 shooting to carry the Bobcats to a 61-50 win at Colby last week. She also grabbed a game-high eight rebounds, dished out a team-high three assists, and blocked a pair of shots against the Mules. She followed that up with 14 points, a team-high nine rebounds, a team-high four assists, a game-high four blocked shots, and a steal against Bowdoin. Daulerio is averaging 2.3 blocked shots per game, tops in the NESCAC.
This is the second time this season Bates has had a player named the Maine Co-Player of the Week. Senior captain
Ava James (Bethesda, Md.) earned the honor on Nov. 18. It's the third Maine Player of the Week honor of Daulerio's career. She shares it this week with the University of Southern Maine's Jacie Christopher.
The Bobcats (6-1) are ranked No. 12 in the latest D3hoops.com top 25 poll and return to action on Thursday, Dec. 18 when they travel to Miami Gardens, Fla. to take on Central College at 6 p.m. in the Cruzin Classic.
