BANGOR, Maine — No. 12 Bates dominated from start to finish Tuesday night, rolling past Husson 98–50 for the program's highest single-game point total of the
Alison Montgomery era, which kicked off in 2015-16.
Fifteen Bobcats filled the scoring column, led by sophomore
Gabby Bellacqua, who posted a career-high 16 points and a team-best seven rebounds. Bates' bench fueled the blowout with 51 points, outscoring the Eagles by itself. The senior trio of
Sophie Spolter (14 points),
Ava James (12), and
Elsa Daulerio (10) also contributed double-digit scoring totals.
The Bobcats shot a blistering 60% from the field (39–65) and 61.1% from three (11–18), while converting 21 Husson turnovers into 29 points.
Bates (2-0) returns to Alumni Gym for three home contests over Thanksgiving break, beginning Saturday against Endicott. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m.
