LEWISTON, Maine– The Bates College women's soccer team secured a crucial NESCAC point on Saturday, holding No. 14 nationally ranked Williams College to a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Russell Street Field.
With the result, the Bobcats move to 3-2-3 overall and 0-2-2 in conference play, while the Ephs stand at 5-1-3 (4-1-2 NESCAC).
Bates' defense was outstanding throughout the match, anchored by another strong performance from junior goalkeeper Sydney Litney, who recorded six saves. Williams held a slight edge in shots, outshooting Bates 10-6 overall and 6-2 in shots on goal.
It marks the second scoreless stalemate of the season vs. a ranked opponent for the home team as Bates knotted then #14 Wesleyan back on Sept. 20.
The Bobcats return to action on Sunday, hosting Hamilton at noon on Russell Street Field.
