Bobcats Sweeps Saturday Tri-Match at Mount Holyoke

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. — Bates College volleyball continued its late-season momentum Saturday, sweeping both Maine Maritime Academy and Mount Holyoke College in a tri-match hosted by the Lyons. The victories lift the Bobcats to 12-8 overall, their highest win total since the 2019 season, with one regular-season match remaining.

In the opener, Bates powered past Maine Maritime for the second time this year, earning a 3–0 decision (25–18, 25–20, 25–13). The Bobcats hit .221 as a team, led by senior Ami Evans with 10 kills. Anaïs Reneaum and senior Bella Lomet each tallied seven kills with efficient hitting percentages of .583 and .500, respectively. Sophomore Kate Norry contributed eight kills and a pair of blocks, while setter Lauren Croom handed out 17 assists. Sophomore Malina Young landed five kills and settled a match-best 14 digs.

Bates carried that momentum into the nightcap, outlasting host Mount Holyoke in four sets (23–25, 25–14, 27–25, 25–13). Reneaum led the charge with a match-high 13 kills on a blistering .550 hitting clip. Young added 12 kills and 11 digs for her third double-double of the season. Croom and Nora Gilmer combined for 41 assists, while senior Ellie Asada collected a team-high 17 digs.

The Bobcats put down 22 block assists with Reneaum topping the team with six. Junior Sofia Castiglioni (9 kills) and Gilmer recorded five block assists apiece.

Bates, winners in five of its last six contests, will close out regular-season play next Saturday with a NESCAC visit to #17 Wesleyan. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
