Women's Soccer Honors Senior Class Prior to Saturday Showdown vs. Connecticut College

Camels Earn 3-0 Road Win Over Bobcats

LEWISTON, Maine — The Bates women's soccer team celebrated its six seniors prior to Saturday's match, then battled visiting Connecticut College in a 3-0 setback at Russell Street Track & Field.

The Camels struck early, taking a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute (19:38) when Claire Chace (Fy.-Bristol, R.I.) found the back of the net for her third goal of the season. Connecticut College doubled its advantage late in the first half on a penalty kick by Alexa Weiner (Sr.-Fairfield, Conn.) in the 41st minute (40:21), and Emma Ward (Jr.-East Setauket, N.Y.) added an insurance tally just after halftime (48:45) to make it 3-0.

Bates generated several quality chances, outshooting the Camels 11-9 and forcing goalkeeper Yael Bugaev (Fy.-Westborough, Mass.) into seven saves. Gwyn Jamison paced the Bobcat attack with three shots (1 SOG) while Eleanor Martin fired off a pair of efforts on frame.

Prior to kickoff, the Bobcats honored seniors Samantha Bunar, Kylie Musante, Nadia Schwartz, Gabby Monaco, Tess Griffith, and Olivia Faucera for their contributions to the program.

Bates (4–5–3, 0–5–2 NESCAC) returns to action Tuesday night when it travels to Bowdoin for a 7:00 p.m. tilt.
