LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College men's soccer improves to 2-0 (1-0 NESCAC) on the young season as the Bobcats, behind goals by Sebastian Iacovitti (Jr.-Florence, Italy) and Benny Bogyo (Redwood City, Calif.), blanked visiting Trinity College (1-1, 0-1 NESCAC) Saturday on historic Garcelon Field.

After a scoreless first half, the Bobcats erased the stalemate in the 48th minute (47:31) when senior Tife Agunloye (Monroe, Conn.) teed up an unmanned Iacovetti, who rifled home the point blank shot to make it 1-0 garnet and white.

Bogyo added the always-crucial insurance tally just over 30:00 later (78:53) as the sophomore, after controlling a feed from first-year Andrew Jean Baptiste (Montvale, N.J.), sprinted down the left wing and after a few nifty moves to the inside, roped a liner into the bottom right to put the 'Cats up by a pair.

The goal marks the second in as many games for Bogyo (9/4 at Saint Joseph's) to start the season.

George Nassar (Newtonville, Mass.) has yet to yield a single goal to kick off his collegiate career as the first-year netminder gathered four saves (90:00) to lock down his second-straight shutout.

Bates returns to action Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. with a non-conference visit to the University of New England (Biddeford, Maine).
