MIDDLETOWN, Conn.-- Bates College men's tennis, playing its final regular-season road match of the spring, visited Wesleyan University Sunday where the host-Cardinals defeated the Bobcats, 8-1, in conference action.
Despite the final score, the day did start on a positive note for the Bobcats as the duo of
Matthew Danielson and
Phillippe Kosyagin defeated Wesleyan's top tandem of JT Bilski and Ben Mitchell, 8-6, in #1 doubles play.  At #2, Wesleyan pairing Harry Collomb and Max Kustgarten handled Bates'
Theo Sardain and
Nicky Desai, 8-2.
Evangelo Kapothanasis and
Ben Adey dropped an 8-5 decision to Chase Kasday and Harry Portnoy at #3 doubles, providing the Cardinals a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.
Wesleyan (3-8, 2-3 NESCAC) was victorious in all six singles competitions. Â
