LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College welcomed #6 Bowdoin College to the Wallach Tennis Center Thursday where the visiting Polar Bears collected an 8-1 NESCAC road victory over the host-Bobcats.
The tandem of
Matthew Danielson and
Phillippe Kosyagin accounted for the lone point for Bates as the duo defeated Ethan Bradley and Jackson Codd, 8-7 (7-2) in a #2 doubles battle.
Bowdoin's Tristian Bradley and Reid Staples secured an 8-5 win vs.
Alexander Gujarathi and
Theo Sardain at #1 doubles, while Aden Dorros and Mick Tamas edged
Ben Adey and
Nicky Desai, 8-7 (7-3) at #3.
In singles play, the aforementioned Desai opened his match in the #4 slot with a 6-4 win in the first set before falling to Ethan Bradley 6-3, 1-0 (12-10). Teammate
Alex Park also won his first game by a 6-4 score at #5 before his opponent, Tamas, stormed back to win with victories of 6-2, 1-0 (10-3).

Bowdoin, now a winner of four-straight outings, improves to 15-5 (6-2 NESCAC) on the year.
The Bobcats (3-12, 0-8 NESCAC) looks ahead to Saturday when the garnet and white hosts #17 Amherst at 10:00 a.m. in another NESCAC tilt.
