LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College women's tennis enjoyed a 9-0 shutout over visiting Endicott College Tuesday afternoon as the Bobcats collect their first victory on home turf this spring season.
Playing on campus in the Wallach Tennis Center, Bates (4-11) opened the afternoon with a clean sweep in doubles competition:
- Ally Friedman and Iris Westmoreland cruised to an 8-3 win over Endicott's Lejla Guster and Ripley Uyeda in the #1 slot.
- Julia Anderson and Liv Gidlow provided the Bobcats a 2-0 lead by edging Ashley Keaveney and Olivia Martinelli at #2, 8-7.
- The garnet and white tandem of Ava Lyon and Grace LaFountain locked down an 8-5 victory vs. Kaitlin Fitzgibbons and Ana Mar Molina at the #3 position.
It would be more of the same in singles action as the Bobcats won 12 of the 13 total sets played:
