LEWISTON, Maine -- Owning a slim 10-9 lead midway through the third quarter, No. 6 Tufts proceeded to pounce and outscore Bates, 10-2, the rest of the way as the visiting Jumbos ultimately cruised to a 20-11 NESCAC win on a wet Wednesday evening at the Bobcats' Garcelon Field.
Tufts, which was coming off a 16-14 home loss to No. 20 Wesleyan, rebounds to improve to 9-2 on the year (6-1 NESCAC). The Bobcats, now losers of five-straight, fall to 3-9 overall (0-8 NESCAC).
11 different Jumbos netted goals in the win while four players recorded three or more points for the visiting team. Brooks Hauser (4 G, 2 A) and Jack Regnery (4 G, 2 A) paced the victors with six points each on the night. Max Ettinghausen (3 G, A) and Charlie Tagliaferri (2 G, A) followed with four and three points, respectively.
Parker Merril and Victor Salcedo each went 11-for-17 at the face-off, while gathering identical totals of eight ground balls apiece.
Wil Masterson put together season-highs in goals (4), assists (2), and total points (6) for the garnet and white, while also gathering a team-high eight ground balls. Teammate

Connor Garzone, Tufts' starting goalkeeper, earned the win (54:33) with 15 total saves.
Andrew Toland rejected 13 shots by the Jumbos in 57:50 of play between the pipes for Bates.
Now having played its final regular-season home tilt of the year, the Bobcats will now move on to Amherst College this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. to take on the No. 16 Mammoths.
