LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates men's basketball senior captain
Simon McCormick was named the Maine Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday by the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association.
McCormick (Whitefield, Maine) averaged 30 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists while only committing two turnovers in two games for the Bobcats. He scored a career-high 34 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and dished out five assists at Bowdoin on Friday. McCormick followed that up with 26 points, six assists, and five rebounds at Colby on Saturday. He is the Co-Player of the Week with Maine Maritime Academy's Curt Heinz.
This is the second time in McCormick's career he's been honored by the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association. As a sophomore, McCormick was named the MMBCWA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 2, 2022.
The Bates men's basketball team returns home this Friday at 7pm when they host No. 9 nationally ranked Trinity in NESCAC action.
