MANAHAWKIN, N.J. -- Bates field hockey senior
Anna Cote is one of 60 players nationally to be named to the NFHCA Division III Senior Team, as announced Thursday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
The latest honor for Cote (New Gloucester, Maine) comes on the heels of the midfielder being named
first team All-NESCAC. Cote led the Bobcats in points with 32, scoring 13 goals, including eight game-winners. She also dished out a team-high six assists. Cote's 13 goals this season are the most for a Bobcat field hockey player since
Jane Davis '88 scored 14 goals in 1987.
With Cote as a key contributor from day one, the Bates class of 2025 won a school-record 43 games over the course of four years. The Bobcats broke the program record for wins in one season this year with 14, advancing to both the
NESCAC championship game and the
NCAA quarterfinals for the first time. The Bobcats increased their win total every year she was on the team, from seven in 2021 to the school-record 14 this season.
This year's campaign built on a remarkable 2023 season, when Cote was named an NFHCA Second Team All-American and Bates both won a NESCAC tournament game and made the NCAA tournament for the first time.
Cote finishes her Bates career with 33 goals, including 14 game-winners, and 13 assists in 72 games played.
A biochemistry major, Cote has excelled in the classroom, having been named to the NFHCA NCAA Division III National Academic Squad and the NESCAC Fall All-Academic team every year she's been eligible for the honor.
Cote's selection to the NFHCA Division III Senior Team follows in the footsteps of her older sister and Bates' all-time career assists leader
Paige Cote (Dec. '23), who earned the honor last season.
