LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates women's basketball junior Elsa Daulerio was named a D3hoops.com preseason third team All-American on Thursday, based on her outstanding performance last year, when she led the Bobcats to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament for the third time in program history.

Daulerio (Harpswell, Maine) is the team's leading returning scorer at 13.6 points per game. She shot a team-best .487 from the floor, and her 64 blocked shots ranked 20th in the country. Daulerio's 7.8 rebounds per game were tops on the team and she recorded eight double-doubles along the way.

Some of Daulerio's top performances in NESCAC games included: 14 points on 7-10 shooting, eight rebounds, and five blocked shots in a 73-42 win at Connecticut College, 18 points on 8-14 shooting and eight rebounds in an 82-66 win over Hamilton, 19 points on 7-12 shooting in a 59-41 win over Amherst, 19 points, including the buzzer-beater heard 'round the NESCAC, on 9-15 shooting in a 62-60 win over Tufts, a career-high 22 points on 10-16 shooting in an 86-70 win at Williams, 21 points and 13 rebounds at Trinity, and 15 points on 6-10 shooting to go along with 10 rebounds and five blocked shots in the NESCAC championship game against Bowdoin.

Then she upped her game in the NCAA tournament, tallying 20 points and 20 rebounds in the Bobcats' first-round win over Brooklyn College before tallying 15 points and nine rebounds in a second-round win over Widener. Daulerio capped off her season against Wartburg in the Sweet 16 with 10 points on 5-8 shooting and six rebounds to go along with four steals and two blocks.

Bates finished with an overall record of 24-6, the second-most wins in one season in program history.

The Bobcats open their 2024-25 campaign on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. when they host Husson at Alumni Gym.
