SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The Bates women's golf team competed Saturday at Amherst College's Jack Leaman Invitational, held at The Orchards Golf Club.
First-year
Ruby Haylock (Hartford, Maine) led the way for Bates, shooting an 80 on Saturday, good for a tie for 26th place out of 63 competitors. Sophomore
Maddy Kwei (Pasadena, Calif.) also placed in the top 50 with a score of 87, which earned her a tie for 43rd.
Overall, the Bobcats finished in 10th place as a team with a score of 359, six strokes back of ninth-place Wesleyan. A planned round on Sunday was canceled due to weather.
Haylock will compete as an individual at the NESCAC Championships set for next Saturday and Sunday at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass.
