LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College men's tennis hosted Williams College Saturday in Merrill Gymnasium as the #7 Ephs (3-0, 2-0 NESCAC) erased the host-Bobcats by a 7-2 score in NESCAC competition.
Despite the outcome, the garnet and white enjoyed a pair of highlights on the day with victories in both doubles and singles action.
The Bobcat tandem of
Matthew Danielson (Jr.-St. Petersburg, Fla.)
and
Leo Kupferman (Sr.-Montclair, N.J.) scored an 8-6 win over the Williams duo of Karan Amin and Shawn Berdia at #2 doubles.
In #4 singles play,
Nick Forester (Sr.-Falmouth, Maine) needed three sets (6-3, 2-6, 6-3) to dismiss Berdia and secure a point for Bates.
Teddy Koide (Sr.-Morristown, N.J.) battled at #5 for the Bobcats, falling in a pair of tie-breakers: 6-7 (2-7), 6-7 (2-7) to Simon Volkema.
