HADLEY, Mass. -- Bates men's tennis senior captain
Theo Sardain and junior
Phillippe Kosyagin have repeated as an All-NESCAC doubles team, as announced Wednesday by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
Sardain (Dedham, Mass.) and Kosyagin (Las Vegas, Nev.) are a second team All-NESCAC pair for the second straight year. Sardain graduates as a three-time All-NESCAC selection, as he also picked up the honor as a sophomore when he was teamed with
Alexander Gujarathi '24.
This season, Sardain and Kosyagin once again played all year at No. 1 doubles for the Bobcats, posting a record of 9-5 and helping lead Bates to the NESCAC tournament for the first time since 2023.
The duo finished the season on a six-match winning streak and were up a break in their NESCAC tournament showdown against the No. 1 doubles team from eventual conference champion Tufts before the match ended via decision.
Some of their signature wins this season included a 7-6 (8-6) victory over the No. 1 doubles team from Brandeis, a 6-4 win over the top team from Amherst, and a 6-2 victory over the No. 1 pair from Wesleyan.
Sardain wraps up his impressive Bates career with 31 doubles victories.
