WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Bates College's annual spring journey through Florida came to a close Saturday with a morning match at Division II Rollins College. The Tars, receiving votes in the latest ITA DII national poll, defeated the Bobcats, 7-0.
Rollins (2-3) opened the affair by claiming each of the three doubles contests. Georgina Groth and Katie Groves defeated the Bobcats' top duo of
Joanna Atwater (Sr.-Short Hills, N.J.) and
Ally Friedman (Jr.-East Hampton, N.Y.), 6-1, at #1 doubles.
Polina Ligay and Eve Wasil joined forces for a 6-1 win at #2 over the Bates senior tandem of
Grace Kennedy (New York, N.Y.) and
Laura Littlefield (Ellicott City, Md). At #3 doubles, Milla Falster and Maria McKay doubled up
Isabella Saul (Fy.-Brooklyn, N.Y.) and
Drew Williams (So.-Guilford, Conn.), 6-3.
