LEWISTON, Maine -- Another win, another shutout for Bates College as the Bobcats registered a 3-0 victory over Husson University Wednesday afternoon in non-conference men's soccer action.
The win pushes Bates' record to 3-1 on the young season while the Eagles have its ledger evened at 2-2 overall.
Three players recorded their first tallies of the year in the contest, starting with senior
Ciaran Bardong (Manhasset, N.Y.), who netted a short-range blast, assisted by senior
Bobby Dall (Cape Elizabeth, Maine)
, in the 28th minute (27:53) to put the home team ahead, 1-0.
Gerard Costa Farre (Barcelona, Spain) doubled the Bobcats' cushion at the 51:16 mark when the sophomore scorched a
Tife Agunloye '25 (Monroe, Conn.) cross.
Cesar Hoover (San Diego, Calif.) removed all doubt of the outcome as the first-year recorded his first collegiate goal on a successful penalty kick with only 25 seconds (89:35) remaining in the match.
The victors dominated the shot column at 18-4 with a 7-1 margin on frame.

Nico Hessel (Brattleboro, Vt.), needed just one save to earn the keeper his third win of the year (3-1).
Wednesday's win closes out the Bobcats' three-game homestand as the garnet and white takes to the road this Saturday for a NESCAC showdown at Williams College. Start time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
