MIDDLETOWN, Conn. -- The Bates women's tennis team wrapped up its season Friday with a 5-0 loss to top seed and No. 3 nationally ranked Wesleyan in the NESCAC quarterfinals.
Bates (6-11) was competing in the NESCAC tournament for the first time since it moved to a seeded format.
The Cardinals (18-0) remained undefeated on the season, sweeping all three doubles matches. Senior captain
Anna Rozin (Toronto, Ontario) and sophomore
Ally Friedman (East Hampton, N.Y.) turned in the best performance for Bates, falling 8-3 at No. 1 doubles to Caitlyn Ferrante and Sasha Gaeth.
With a 3-0 lead, Wesleyan won at No. 5 and No. 4 singles, clinching the match for the hosts.
