NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. -- Sophomore
Evan Glicos fired a second day score of 77 to finish in a tie for 22nd out of 50 competitors Sunday at the NESCAC Men's Golf Championships.
Glicos (Windham, Maine) paced the Bobcats, who finished 9th out of 10 teams overall at the two-day tournament. Bates placed just two strokes back of eighth-place Wesleyan and 40 strokes ahead of rival Colby with a combined team score of 656.
Sophomore
Paul Detre (Morristown, N.J.) also finished in the top 30 for Bates, shooting a two-day score of 162, finishing two strokes back of Glicos. Detre shot an 82 on Saturday and trimmed his score to 80 on Sunday. Senior captain
Jack Howard (Pelham, N.Y.) finished in 36th place overall after leading the Bobcats on Saturday with a first round score of 78.
The NESCAC Championships concludes the spring season for the Bates men's golf team. Howard is the lone graduating senior for the Bobcats.
