WATERVILLE, Maine -- The Bates men's lacrosse team wrapped up its season with a 22-8 loss at Colby Wednesday night in NESCAC action.

Jackson Sell (Mill Valley, Calif.) led the Bobcats (1-12, 1-9 NESCAC) with three points, scoring a goal and dishing out two assists in his final game as a Bobcat. Senior

Wil Masterson (York, Maine), and sophomore
Jake Johnson (Lake Forest Park, Wash.) scored two goals each for Bates in the contest.
Jack Goller and Jack Rickards led the Mules (6-7, 3-7 NESCAC) with four goals and one assist apiece.
Colby scored the first seven goals of the game before Masterson took advantage of a man-up situation on an assist from Sell to get the Bobcats on the board with 9:54 left in the second quarter. Bates played well in the second quarter, out-scoring Colby 5-3. The Bobcats cut the deficit to four with 1:20 left in the half on another man-up goal, this one from Johnson on an assist from junior
Malcolm Klingbeil (Powell, Ohio), making the score 9-5 in favor of the Mules at the half.
But Colby scored the first six goals of the third quarter and held Bates to just three goals in the second half of action.
The Mules tallied 57 shots to 41 for Bates. 39 ground balls went to Colby compared to 21 for Bates.
Wednesday's game marked the final contest of the season for the Bobcats.
