LEWISTON, Maine -- The Bates men's tennis team rolled to a 9-0 win over Endicott Sunday afternoon at Merrill Gymnasium in the home opener for the Bobcats.

Bates (1-2) took control right from the jump against the Gulls (1-4) in doubles matches.

Juniors Leo Kupferman (Montclair, N.J.) and Teddy Koide (Morristown, N.J.) swept their opponents 8-0 at No. 3 doubles to set the tone for Bates. Sophomores Alexander Gujarathi (Plymouth, Mass.) and Matthew Danielson (St. Petersburg, Fla.) won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles and junior Nick Forester (Falmouth, Maine) teamed with sophomore Nikesh Desai (Hopkinton, Mass.) for an 8-1 win at No. 2 doubles.

The Bobcats won all six singles matches in straight sets. Koide was masterful at No. 6 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Meanwhile, Forester and Kupferman both won by the count of 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 and 2 singles respectively.

Danielson (6-2, 6-1 at No. 3) and Desai (6-0, 6-2 at No. 4) had no trouble with their opponents as well.
